The Armed Forces Vacation Club provides a number of excellent benefits to military families planning vacations. With resorts in more than 100 countries, you’re sure to find a venue at your destination of choice that fit your family’s needs. Accommodations range from studio to three bedroom rentals, and you’ll book your resort or hotel by the unit rather than paying a per-person fee, with a unit typically sleeping from two-to-eight individuals.
AFVC membership is a free benefit for all active duty, reserve, guard and retired members of the Armed Forces, providing specials for space A-stays and vacation deals as well as all-inclusive resort specials, and my personal experiences booking through them have always been positive.
During a not-so-long ago visit from family to our home on Oahu, I reached out to AFVC to book a four-day spur-of-the-moment trip to Maui. On a Thursday night, I was able to book a Friday morning flight to the neighbor island, score an AMAZING condo in Lahina for four adults and one child. The lovely, well-appointed unit could have easily accommodated eight and only set us back $180.00 for three nights and four days.
We also took advantage of AFVC the last time we visited Disney World. For a total of 4 adults and 2 children, we rented an awesome condo at a recreational resort only four miles from the parks. The condo consisted of a master suite living room, full kitchen, two full baths and two queen beds. We stayed for six nights and seven days for only $350.00 plus tax, and to my delight – no hidden fees. I definitely recommend looking into AFVC packages when planning your next family vacation or romantic getaway.
